Spend less time planning
and more time dancing!

Hello, I’m Lee - a dance educator, performer, and teacher with one foot in the ballet studio and the other in the classroom!
My dance career has taken me from pliés in the Sydney Opera House to pirouettes in New York City. From performing in Times Square to sharing the stage with Keith Urban. Along the way, I’ve been lucky enough to train with world class institutions like the McDonald College of Performing Arts, Joffrey Ballet School, Broadway Dance Centre, and the Royal Academy of Dance.
Beyond the stage and bright lights, my deepest passion has always been teaching. For over 26 years I’ve guided dancers of every age and level, from tiny beginners to professional dancers. I’ve also had the privilege of mentoring teachers through examiner and advisory roles. Examining students across Australia in the styles of ballet, jazz & tap.
Determined to get into the nitty gritty of how students learn and how to become a better teacher myself, I completed a Master of Teaching in 2010 which has deepened my interest in how people learn. Alongside my studio work, I’ve spent many years as a classroom and children with special needs teacher. This dual path has shaped my approach: I love blending what I know from mainstream and special education with ballet training because at the end of the day, children are children - curious, capable, and eager to grow when we meet them where they are. Whether it’s in a school classroom or a ballet studio, they thrive when teaching is clear, consistent, and infused with a sense of joy. That’s the heart of my work: to help every teacher and student stand taller, move with confidence, and discover the magic that happens when learning truly sticks.
What really lights me up is finding those little bridges…those little ‘ah ha’ moments! The words, images, and cues that flip the switch for a child so a correction finally “lands.” It’s not just about showing them what to do; it’s about helping them feel it in their own body so it sticks for the long run. At the centre of my teaching is a simple belief: when joy and mastery meet, students thrive, technique sharpens, artistry blooms, and the studio becomes a place of growth rather than grind.
This website is intended to be a place where I share insights, strategies, classroom tricks, and creative sparks that make ballet “stick” in both body and spirit. My hope is that it helps other teachers feel supported, equipped, inspired, and just a little more magical in their work. So that no ballet teacher ever feels like they are doing this in isolation and no child every feels unmotivated or unsuccessful in the ballet studio.
Enjoy xx
